The Inspector-General in Bankruptcy is appointed by the Attorney-General and is responsible
for the general administration of the Bankruptcy Act 1966.

The Inspector-General has powers to:
- regulate bankruptcy trustees and other personal insolvency administrators
- investigate Bankruptcy Act offences, and
- review certain decisions of trustees
The Inspector-General is assisted in this role by the National Manager of the Regulation & Enforcement business line.
ITSA’s Chief Executive, Veronique Ingram, is also the appointed Inspector-General.
