 11 July 2011 PROVISIONAL PERSONAL INSOLVENCY STATISTICS Today, I am releasing the provisional personal insolvency statistics for 2010-11 year and the June 2011 quarter. Total personal insolvency activity Total personal insolvency activity (31 515) decreased by 13.69% in 2010-11 (36 513 in 2009-10) and decreased by 15.39% in the June 2011 quarter (7 707) compared to the June 2010 quarter (9 109). Bankruptcies New bankruptcies decreased by 16.01% during 2010-11 (23 102 as compared with 27 507 in 2009-10) and decreased by 18.12% in the June 2011 quarter (5 602) compared to the June 2010 quarter (6 842). Part IX debt agreements There was a 4.44% decrease in debt agreements (as compared with 8 428 in 2009-10). There was a decrease of 7.74% in the June 2011 quarter (2 014) compared to the June 2010 quarter (2 183). Part X arrangements There was a 37.89% decrease in personal insolvency agreements in 2010-11 (359), and an increase of 8.33% in the June 2011 quarter (91) compared to the June 2010 quarter (84).
