How to become Registered as a Debt Agreement Administrator

As from 1 July 2007 ITSA’s Debt Agreement Service will
not accept a debt agreement proposal from a person unless
that person is a registered trustee, a registered debt
agreement administrator or is the administrator of not more than
five debt agreements.

Guidelines for becoming a registered debt agreement administrator set out the abilities and qualifications that a person must have to become registered, describes the application and assessment process and the Inspector-General's expectations as to the level of knowledge needed. It is strongly recommended that you read these guidelines thoroughly if you intend to apply for registration as an administrator.
In order to apply for registration you will need to complete the application form and pay the $2,000 application fee. If an individual application, rather than a company application, you will also need to obtain a Criminal database search in your name from the Australian Federal Police.
The completed application along with a copy of any qualifications and a criminal database search may be forwarded electronically to ITSA at registrations.officer@itsa.gov.au, faxed to the Registrations Officer on facsimile 07 3360 5402 or posted to:

Payment by cheque should be payable to "The Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia" and posted to the Registrations Officer at the above address either with the application or with identifying details.
